Hurricane Dean - we should be safe!

It looks like we are out of the projected path of Hurricane Dean, but we'll bring some games just in case!

Thanks for the checks

I got both checks in the mail, thanks!

I thought Meghan's was junk mail and I came this close to throwing the envelope away. Your handwriting is too neat! I thought it must be computer-generated.

Last night when I woke up in the middle of the night, I started worrying that the resort had not charged the rest of the deposit to our credit card (even though that's exactly what they told me they would do when I called last week), and since we did not pay the second half on time, they cancelled our reservation. Of course none of this happened. I called this morning and said, "So that's it? We're all set?" and they said "Yes."

So, we're all set! In case anyone had any doubts.

Fun things to bring

We are planning to bring our bicycles, along with a seat for Simone that goes on the back of Matt's bike. We're going to get her a helmet this weekend. Leslie, you can ride my bike while I'm gone, and of course we can rent bikes if we just want to bike bike bike all the time.

Who will bring Taboo? We still don't have it.

Leslie, could you bring the Pack and Play from your house for Simone to use, because ours is broken.

We're going to work on our packing list this weekend, and our grocery list. So we'll post more about this later.

supper schedule

If each family plans 2 suppers, that would leave one night to go out to dinner all together. If anyone wants to have a Date Night, they can go out any other night, too. If anyone disagrees with this, we can certainly do something else.

Also, just because you have a night to do supper, it does not mean you have to do anything big. (although I am sure Matt will do this). Your night could be frozen pizza. We are on vacation, after all. I plan to spend as little time cooking and grocery shopping as possible.

One other idea: Matt and I could be in charge of supper on the first night, since we only have about 2 hours to drive. We could have stuff prepared and in the cooler and then cook when we arrive, so we can have a lovely, stress-free first evening.

Meals

So far I'm planning two meals: A roasted pork loin that should leave leftovers for sandwiches and a barbecued brisket. I'll stop at CostCo on the way down to pick up eggs and other staples. Let me know if you want me to get anything while I'm there.

Condo Info

Our condo is 623 New Haven, take a look!

http://lodging.frippislandresort.com/623.html

The phone number of the unit is 843-838-1656. We can check in on August 18 at 4:30 (check out the following Saturday will be at 10:30).

The final payment has been made, and everyone owes $310.

Any ideas on what to bring - fun games, food, ???

The Corys are going to Fripp Island!

We can use this space to discuss who is bringing what, travel plans, and anything else. I will check with Matt about the best way for everyone to use it, but for now feel free to leave any comments. (this is the same blog website that hosted BabyWatch 2005, so you may already be registered.)

Let the anticipation begin!
